North Country Natural Hoof Care

Natural hoof care is a specialized trimming technique to improve the whole horse, the way nature intended. Such trimming techniques can also be used to rehablitate horses from other common ailing hoof problems along with proper nutrition and living conditions. The majority of common ailing hoof problems and lamenesses affecting horses today are from a result of people changing their natural lifestyles. Most of those hoof problems we have today can be prevented by putting them back into a more natural environment, giving them proper nutrition, and natural balanced trimming.

 

I apply these natural balanced trimming techniques along with 'White Lightning' treatments to help heal and prevent fungus problems in the feet.

 

White Lightning is a Chlorine Dioxide mixture that is SAFE and effective. When a White Lightning treatment is applied, it is mixed in a 50/50 ratio with white vinegar. The foot is then sealed in a bag for 45 minutes with the mixture creating a gas that is able to get into all the small areas and crevices way up into the hoof. Other treatments only treat the surface areas rather than deep inside. Unlike other treatments, White Lightning stays active for about 8 hours so there's no worries in putting the horses back in the pasture.

 

 

I provide maintenance trims for Horses, Ponies, Mules, Minis, Donkeys, Llamas, Alpacas, and Goats.

 

I also provide specializing trimming to promote healing of White Line, Thrush, Founder & Laminitis, Hoof Contraction, Navicular, Club Feet, Hoof Cracks, Hoof Wall Failure, and Shod to Barefoot Transitions.
